Press Release
Bromba Releases New Version of Fingerprint
SDK
With the Bromba Fingerprint Software Development
Kit 2.0 the Munich based company presents an enhanced version of its successfully
tested biometric recognition software in good time for the Systems 2004.
Munich, 11th October 2004
– The winner of the biometric study "BioFinger" recently published by the
German federal office for security (BSI) is now available in an upgraded
version.
The Bromba Fingerprint SDK 2.0 is the successor
of the Siemens ID Device SDK 1.9 and offers a series of technical innovations:
-
Supported by an adaptive algorithm the software
continuously updates the biometric reference templates and thus improves
the recognition performance even more.
-
Shifted Double Click (SDC) is a new efficient
option to detect latent fingerprints and therefore to reject unauthorized
access.
-
The biometric data set needs only a fifth
of the memory space than its predecessor making transmission time shorter
and consequently lowering the time needed for the biometric authentication
routine.
The license model for the Fingerprint SDK
2.0 is also new. The initial price of 399.- € is significantly lower
than that of the SDK 1.9. Further costs are only due in the form of royalties.
"Customers who integrate our fingerprint software into their security solutions
for PC-Login or biometric access control only pay for further licenses
once having success with their final products", explains Manfred Bromba,
CEO.
The Bromba Fingerprint SDK 2.0 works with
optical, capacitive, thermal, and pressure sensitive technologies. Besides
Cherry devices it also supports most of the other important fingerprint
readers with sensors from Atmel, Authentec, BMF, Crossmatch, Ethentica,
Fujitsu, Infineon, and UPEK.
