From September 8 to September 9, the Competence Center for Applied Security Technology, CAST e.V. holds the annual workshop on biometrics at the Fraunhofer Institute for Graphical Data Processing in Darmstadt (Germany). The workshop addresses developers and researches working in the area of biometrics. When registrating until August, 29th, a reduced conference fee will be granted. Windows 7: Fingerprint logon made easy thanks to WBF
All actual fingerprint sensor devices from AuthenTec/Upek, Cherry, and SecuGen offered by Bromba Biometrics can be used for Windows 7 logon without purchasing extra software. This holds for 32 as well as for 64 bit systems and does not only simplify authentication but usually offers more security than a simple password. For their customers Bromba has issued a detailed description. However, installation and operation is such easy that in most cases no instructions are required.

Bromba offers new 1000 dpi live scanner from Cross Match Technologies
With the L SCAN 1000PX, Bromba Biometrics extends their live scanner range für law enforcement by a new top-end product. The L SCAN 1000PX provides an image quality which even outperforms current 1000 dpi top fingerprint and palm scanners. At the same time, user friendliness and capturing speed have been increased while space requirements have been reduced significantly compared to its predecessors. Even the price sets new standards in its category. Certainly, also this live scanner is available with replaceable silicone membranes to increase image quality for difficult skin conditions. In September last year the two worldwide leading manufacturers of capacitive fingerprint sensors joined to further extend their competitive position by taking advantage of synergies. Certainly, the sensor products available from Bromba will remain available in its established form under the same branding. For future products Bromba Biometrics expects interesting innovations which reflect the combined know how and patent portfolio of the previous companies.
