Ethernet solution for most standard
fingerprint sensor devices now available from Bromba
Today, most established fingerprint
sensor devices provide an USB interface. Although USB is fast, it becomes
critical if long-distance connections with more than several meters are
required as this may be the case for physical access control systems. For
long-distance communication, Ethernet is a common anwer. While for highest
requirements professional ethernet devices like the Verifier
E from Cross Match Technologies are the first choice, low-cost
systems with high-quality sensors were not available until now. Thanks
to components from Lantronix
we are now able to deliver a thoroughly tested 100 Mbit/s Ethernet solution
which supports most Full-Speed USB devices from UPEK, Cherry, and SecuGen.
Naturally, both the new solution and the Verifier E provide encryption.
(When using LAN, encryption of the transmitted biometric data is essential
to guarantee security and privacy.) For more information ->contact

Bromba launches version 2.1
of BioIDENTICA® SDK
The newest version of BioIDENTICA®
SDK is prepared for fast identification which will be provided by the forthcoming
product BioIDENTICA® FID. Together with the new SDK, BioIDENTICA®
FID will be able to support high-speed identification with more than 100
000 fingerprint references while providing extremely low error rates. This
performance makes the technology feasible for large scale payment systems
and other applications where fingerprint takes over the role of an identifier
and verification is done by additional measures. This combines high security
with convenience in applications where total cost reduction is essential.
Consistent with these new applications, version 2.1 now supports the main
optical high-quality fingerprint sensors from SecuGen®, e.g., Hamster
III, Hamster plus, and Hamster IV. Additionally, several new notebooks
with the state-of-the-art fingerprint sensors from UPK will be supported
when using Bromba's BioIDENTICA® UPK. Finally, the Verifier®
E from Cross Match Technologies has been integrated. This fingerprint scanner
disposes of a powerful ethernet interface and is ideally suited to distributed
access systems. For our BioIDENTICA® SDK customers, the upgrade
to version 2.1 of BioIDENTICA® SDK is free! ->BioIDENTICA®

Cherry integrates low-cost swipe sensor into
keyboard
New keyboards with integrated
fingerprint swipe sensor are being introduced by Cherry. These keyboards,
called G83-14600 and G83-14700 (with smartcard reader), show two special
advantages: improved protection against fingerprint forgery and favorable
price. The fingerprint sensor coming from Authentec has been proven millionfold
in notebooks and other applications, thus providing a broad range of software
applications. Different country and color versions are available from Bromba

New generation of TopSec ID Modules available
Bromba now offers the successor
of the successful Siemens TopSec ID Module which comes from MB fingerMetrica.
The TopSec ID module performs all calculations necessary for fingerprint
acquisition and recognition (enrolment, verification, identification).
A 3 MB flash archive is able to store several thousand fingerprint templates.
The extremely small, battery powered modules support a variety of new sensors
from UPEK, Atmel, and Testech. RoHS compliance is self-evident. Integrators
who already use the old ID Module will be satisfied by the fact that the
µC interface and all commands remain compatible. ->TopSec
