Raw Image Extension for BioIDENTICA®
Device SDK available
For applications which use raw image fingerprints
as reference templates, Bromba has developed the new product BioIDENTICA®
RIE. To use raw images, preferably stored in the standardized format given
by ISO/IEC 19794-4, offers the advantage of interoperability between hardware
and software platforms of different vendors. For that reason, many ID cards
use this format. BioIDENTICA® RIE is available as add-on for

Device SDK available
With version 2.0.5.0 of its successful fingerprint
SDK, Bromba now offers the integration of area sensors from UPEK which
are based on the Trusted Fingerprint Module as well as the extendibility
to direct processing of fingerprint raw images as they are stored, e.g.,
in ID cards. Furthermore, a failure in the function "BioDataVersusBioDataEx"
has been corrected. Finally, a workaround eliminates incompatibilities
with the VPN client software from Cisco. Again, this update is free for

Bromba supports EU project MOSQUITO with fingerprint
technology
The EU project MOSQUITO deals with "Mobile
Workers' Secure Business Applications in Ubiquitous Environments". It is
performed within the framework of Information Society Technologies (IST).
The MOSQUITO’s vision is that mobile workers have secure, trusted, and
ubiquitous access to business applications. The project will provide the
technical infrastructure required so that workers and their clients can
perform daily business processes collaboratively and safely according to
determined security policies. Networks have tremendously evolved in terms
of wireless technology and mobility, but business application and service
support have lagged behind.
Bromba supports this project with its fingerprint
technology by providing an SDK for notebooks with integrated fingerprint
sensors from Authentec.

Bromba finalizes border control specification
for Riga Airport
The introduction of biometric passports requires
encompassing technical provisions for all border control stations worldwide.
To profit by the benefits of biometric verification, it is essential to
design the biometrics system in such a way that the best possible performance
with respect to passenger usability and recognition rate can be achieved,
resulting in a high throughput. To achieve this goal, the Latvian
Republic Ministry of the Interior State Borderguard initiated a project
for the design of such a system for Riga Airport. Bromba GmbH, as a subcontractor
of BSM Consultants Ltd., was responsible for the biometrics part and has
now successfully finalized the specification. The main task was to specify
the system requirements, regarding face and fingerprint recognition while
trying to get a perfect integration into the existing border control stations. |
