warranty processing. This applies to all sensor devices (such as the Siemens
ID Mouse) which have been sold by Siemens Biometrics before the hardware
part of the business has been transferred to Cherry.

| The first international conference on
biometric authentication, ICBA
'04is scheduled for July 15-17, 2004 in Hong Kong. Papers may
still be submitted until December 1st, 2003.
The purpose of this conference is to emphasize
the design and development of efficient and effective biometric technologies
& systems, provide an international forum for researchers, engineers
and vendors from different disciplines to exchange ideas, identify problems,
evaluate system performance, explore new research directions, and initiate
possible collaborative research and future system developments. This conference
will significantly benefit biometric researchers in academic, government

Cherry,
a leading keyboard manufacturer, has taken over the development, production,
and sales of fingerprint sensor devices from the Siemens
division Information and Communication Mobile ("Siemens mobile"). Cherry
already cooperated with Siemens in the past in developing and launching
products with fingerprint sensor. By the partner company Bromba GmbH Cherry
will also offer service and support for end users especially for the products
ID Mouse and ID Mouse Professional from Siemens mobile. The recognition
algorithms for identification of users by their fingerprint have also been
transferred to Bromba and will be further enhanced there. ->

Bromba GmbH joins the biometric working groups
of TeleTrusT e.V. and DIN e.V. to actively promote biometrics and its worldwide
ISO standardization. TeleTrusT
is a non-profit organization for the promotion of trustworthiness of information
and communication technology. Its working group 6 is the most important
platform in Germany regarding biometrics technologies. DIN,
the German Institute for Standardization, is a registered association,
founded in 1917. Its head office is in Berlin. Since 1975 it has been recognized
by the German government as the national standards body and represents
German interests at international and European level. Its working group
NI-37 is the national mirror committee of ISO/IEC
JTC 1/ SC 37 (biometrics). |

Bromba GmbH as from now continues the activities
of "Dr. Manfred Bromba Infrared Indicators". Infrared indicators are valuable
tools for visualization of infrared light as it is emitted, e.g., by IR
LEDs or IR laser diodes. Especially in its handy credit card format IR
indicators have established themselves as a low-cost and simple to use
alternative to electronics-based measurement equipment. Bromba infrared
indicators have been manufactured since 1986 and are distributed Europe-wide.
